Bishop Leo O’ Reilly visited our school on Thursday last. He visited all the classrooms to meet the children and staff. He admired the beautiful artwork and displays in the classrooms and corridors and he commended the pupils and staff for their creativity and love of learning. He was entertained with stories, hymns and prayers in all classes. Bishop Leo then joined the pupils, staff, parents and many parishioners in the GP room for a prayer service and reflection. Fr. Kelleher welcomed the Bishop and Seamus O’ Shea spoke on behalf of the Board of Management.
Mr. Mulvey then thanked the Bishop for taking time from his very busy schedule to visit Knocktemple and Charlie Doyle presented him with a Cross pen as a memento of his visit. Bishop Leo then blessed the school and unveiled a beautiful plaque in the reception area. Everyone then enjoyed some refreshments and the pupils were treated to some ‘goodies.’
