Swimming Gala

Twenty five pupils from Knocktemple NS took part in the Cavan County Primary School Swim Gala on Wednesday 3rd December 2014.  There were 22 other schools taking part. All children put in great effort throughout the day and we had podium finishes for Elisha Kearns, 3rd place U12 Back Stroke and Emma Hetherton, 1st place U14 Front Crawl and Girls U12 Relay Team achieved 2nd Place (Ella O'Reilly, Niamh Brodie, Martha Smith and Genevieve Hughes).   While podium finishes were few, it doesn't reflect how successful we were throughout the course of the day, with most of our swimmers advancing through their heats and onto quarter and semi final stages.  Thank you to those parents who helped with transport namely: Carmel Hughes, Jim Gilsenan, Rosemary Gilsenan, Margaret Towel, Tara Kearns and Linda Henry. Our sincere thanks to Sharon Hetherton for coordinating and organising the event. Congrats to all.
