Book Rental The second instalment for our Book Rental scheme is due next Tuesday 2nd May. Payments can be made by instalments or alternatively parents can pay in the school office. The epayment request has been sent already. Many thanks to all who have already paid in full. If the above schedule does not suit you please contact the school office to discuss alternative arrangements.
Horse Riding for our Cairde Classes
Our horse riding tuition started again on Wednesday. There are some lovely photographs on the website.
Open Day for New Pupils
An information meeting/open afternoon for parents of newly enrolled pupils is due to take place next month. Date to be confirmed.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Book Fair has been a great success thanks to all the children and parents for your support we have earned €1074.00 free books for our school
Cash for Clobber
This is a great chance to support the school while clearing out unwanted clothing and shoes (pairs only please). All types of clothing are acceptable. Other textile items will be accepted, except duvets and pillows. The collection date is only a few weeks away!!
Eason Spelling Bee: Congratulations to Emily Towell our Spelling Bee Champion who represented our school this week in the Cavan Spelling bee.
Scooter and Cycle Training – Green Schools
The grand finale for the 4th Green School Flag, cycle training for all pupils will take place in the school next Thursday 4th May. There will also be cycle Training for Adults from 6pm to 8pm next Thursday 4th May. (Please support)
Congratulations to the Green School Committee and Pauline Duignan for their great work. Our School has now been awarded their 4th Green Flag and will attend an awards ceremony on the 25th May 2017. We will celebrate this award on the 6th June when we will officially raise our new Green Flag with our surprise guest of honour.
Killinkere Wonderland Art Competition 2017 The theme of this competition is DREAM (illustrate your favourite dream) All entries to be made on A4 paper. Please put name, age and class on the back of your entry then hand them back to your teacher. Winning entries will be exhibited throughout the Jamboree on June Bank Holiday weekend. Prizes will be awarded for each class group and best school effort will be awarded also.
Tours School tours are at the planning stage at present and we hope to have them finalised in the next few weeks.
1st Communion We are very much looking forward to 1st Holy Communion on Saturday the 13th May. All the boys and girls in rang a dó and their teachers Mr. Sheils and Ms. Reilly are busy preparing for their special day.
Recorder Recital On Thursday last we had a very enjoyable recorder recital in the school hall. Pupils from 3rd to 6th class played recorder and they were accompanied by their fellow pupils on guitars, keyboards, harp and accordion and we also had some backing singers!!! Thank you to Clara McCabe from ‘The Music Room’ who has been working in our school since Christmas. We hope to see Clara again next year.
