On Wednesday the 8th of October Ms Reilly’s 3rd class hosted breakfast in the hall as part of the Cheerios Childline Breakfast together week
The breakfast week is a fun charity breakfast which is hosted across the country to help support the ISPCC Childline services which answers calls from children in need across Ireland 24 hours a day.
Childline is 95% funded by the public so your support is invaluable. The Childline phone service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Childline receives hundreds of thousands of calls every year. These are answered by volunteers and staff who are trained to listen and understand young people
The Cheerios Childline Breakfast Together Week has been running for 8 years.
The campaign has raised €1.3 million euro to date.
The event is Ireland's largest charity breakfast event.
In 2013 there were over 1700 registered events.
This year in Knocktemple every child brought in a €2 donation for Childline in return for a healthy breakfast of cheerios fruit and a juice drink.
With all money collected €283.82 has been raised for Childline. Well done everyone!
Ms. Reilly and her class would like to thank Cheerios for sponsoring the cereal packets for everyone, the parents association who helped out throughout the day, those who helped set-up the hall and of course the pupils in third class who showed fantastic hosting skills!
