School Photographer

The school photographer will take photographs in school on Tuesday 24th March 2015.

Easter Raffle

Our parents association are holding an Easter Raffle next week in school. Tickets will be on sale in school hall at 11am and 1pm each day. Tickets cost 50c for a strip. The winning ticket gets a beautiful hamper which is on view outside the school office. We will hold our Easter draw in school on Friday 27th March at 12noon.


On Tuesday next, 24th March 2015, we will have an information seminar on the topic of Dyspraxia from 3.15 – 4.15pm in our school for all staff. The seminar will be facilitated by a speaker from the Dyspraxia Association of Ireland. Parents who are interested in learning about Dyspraxia are also welcome to the seminar. Please contact Miriam in the office to reserve a place.

Science Fair

Ms Reilly will host a science fair with her 3rd class on Wednesday next. All parents are welcome to call to the school to see the science fair between 2 and 3pm on Wednesday.



Olympic Handball

An Olympic Handball tournament will be held on Wednesday next in Gilson NS, Oldcastle. We are hoping to get some coaching from Markus Hofmann next week.

Cumann na mBunscoil

Congratulations to Mr. Sheils on his election to the position of secretary of Cumann na mBunscoil, An Chábháin.

Seachtain na Gaeilge- Radio Cnoc an Teampaill

Tá seachtain na Gaeilge faoi lánsheoil fós agus cloistear Gaeilge sa scoil gach lá. Tá seanfhocail nua againn anois: ‘Is maith an t-anlann an tocras.’ Tá na páistí ag foghlaim amhrán Gaeilge; Peigín Leitir Móir, Beidh Aonach Amárach,Oró Sé do Bheatha ‘Bhaile agus Trasna na dTonnta. Tá clár Gaeilge ar Radio Cnoc an Teampaill gach lá chomh maith .

Spring Clean

Ms Brady and some volunteer pupils spent some time on a spring clean around the school and the environs this week as part of the Spring Clean campaign.

Cavan Drama Festival

We wish every success to Mr. Murray and the Corn Mill theatre group as they takes part in the Cavan Drama Festival next Wednesday with their production of ‘Dead School’ by Patrick McCabe in Cavan town hall.

Céilí Mór

Beidh Céilí Mór sa halla ar an Aoine seo chughainn ag leathuair tar éis a haon déag. We will have a Céilí Mór in the school hall next Friday at 11.30am .All parents and families welcome to come along and join in!

Liathróid Lámha

Handball coaching continues in Munterconnaught GAA on Saturday mornings at 10am. A Handball Coaching course will take place in Virginia College next Wednesday. Contact the college for more information.
