Official Opening of our Multi - Sensory Room                                       We are delighted to announce the Official Opening of our Multi- Sensory Room in the school on Wednesday 2nd May by Finian Mc Grath TD, Minister for Disability Issues. Everyone welcome.

Autism Awareness Information Evening

As part of our Autism Awareness Week next week we will host an Information evening on Thursday 26th April at 8pm in the school hall. All parents and community members are welcome to this free event. We will have an array of special events next week including Jumping Clay (courtesy of CAPS), FAIS Soccer, Yoga and Art and Crafts as well as many other fun activities.

Spelling Bee

Congratulations to Sophie Lynch who will represent her school in the County Spelling Bee final in Cavan next week. Maith thú Sophie.

Recipes – The Forge

Thank you to Pauric White from the Forge restaurant for providing us with recipes from his healthy eating workshop that was held in the school recently. These recipes are available on the school website knocktemplens.ie

Poetry

Congratulations to Lee Glennon, Conor Enright and Shannon McGovern who had their poetry published in the Newsflash magazine.

Music Recital

On Thursday last we had a very enjoyable music recital in school to mark the final day of our music tuition with Clara. Pupils played the Ukelele and the recorder as well as the harp and keyboard. It is great to see the progress that everyone has made since January. Thank you to Clara and to the Foróige club for the use of their instruments. Keep up the practice!

Social Trip

Our final social trip took place on Wednesday last. As always it was a most enjoyable school event and we are grateful to the staff and management of Lisgrey House, The Willows Café and our bus driver Pat for looking after us so well!

Final Preparation Mass Communion and Confirmation

The final mass in preparation for the sacraments will take place on Sunday.

Cash for Clobber

This is a great chance to support the school while clearing out unwanted clothing and shoes (pairs only please). All types of clothing are acceptable. Other textile items will be accepted, except duvets and pillows.The collection date is mid-May.

Scooter and Cycle Training – Green Schools

We are delighted to have some Scooter and Cycle training in our school again with Susan Dorley, An Taisce, on the 3rd May.

Tours                                                                                                                                          School tours are at the planning stage at present and we hope to have them finalised in the next few weeks.

Uniform Fitting                                                                                                                  Schoolwear House (school uniform supplier) will visit our school for uniform fittings on Thursday 24th May from 2pm to 4pm and from 5pm to 7pm. Please note this on your calendar.
