Information Meeting / Open Afternoon: An information meeting/open afternoon for parents of new pupils will be held in the school on Thursday 8th June 2017 at 2.15pm.

Flag Raising Ceremony (4th Green Flag): Ms. Duignan and members of the Green School committee collected our Green School flag at a ceremony in City North Hotel Gormanstown on Thursday last. Our Green School Flag Raising Ceremony will be at 1.45pm on Thursday next 1st June 2017. This is our fourth Green School Flag and it is based on the theme of travel. The flag will be raised by Ciarán Brady (Cavan County Footballer), Ms. Pauline Duignan, Green School Coordinator, the Green School Committee and Susan Doorley, An Taisce.                                                                                                     There will be a cup of tea and light refreshments in the school GP room after the ceremony. We hope you will be able to join us for this special celebration.

Biz World: Congratulations to Mr. McCaffrey and his 5th class pupils who will represent our school with their Business Project in the All Ireland final in Athlone IT on 21st June. They are also taking part in the Entreprise Town showcase in Oldcastle this weekend.

Book Rental: The final instalment for our Book Rental is due on Tuesday 7th June. The book list will then be finalised and we will be in a position to purchase books for each class. Please make sure you have paid in full by this date.  If this does not suit you please contact the school office to discuss alternative arrangements.

GAA: Our girls played their last two football games in the league during the week against Mullahoran and Mountnugent.  The girls played very well in all their games. Thanks to all the parents who helped with transport.

Art Workshop: Mr. Mc Caffrey’s Art Workshop continues after school for 4th to 6th classes.

GAA Art Competition: Thanks to Rachel Daly and Lauren Gilsenan who came in to the school to explain all about the Munterconnaught GAA club annual art competition. The theme is gaelic games and all pictures can be dropped in to the office.

Cash for Clobber: Next Wednesday, 31st May, is the collection day for Cash for Clobber This is a great chance to support the school while clearing out unwanted clothing and shoes (pairs only please). All types of clothing are acceptable. Other textile items will be accepted, except duvets and pillows.

Parachute Jump: Sabrina Masterson Blake is doing a Parachute Jump this weekend to raise funds to help equip the Sensory/Therapy Room in our School. Sponsorship Card available in the school should anyone wish to sponsor Sabrina in her Skydive. Good luck Sabrina.

4th & 5th Class School Tour Check out our website for lovely photos of our 4th & 5th Class school tour to Loughcrew Adventure centre. A wonderful day and enjoyed by all.

2nd & 3rd Class School Tour A tour has been arranged for 2nd & 3rdclasses to go to the Cavan Pool Activity Centre.  This tour will take place on Wednesday 7th June and consists of multi-activities include pool games, slide and pool inflatable, parachute games, obstacle course, athletics, mini games and team challenges.

Cairde Class Tour 2017: This year our Cairde Classes are going on their school tour on Tuesday 6th June to ‘Rock “n” Bowl’ in Mullingar. This tour includes “Teddy Mountain (Build a bear) Soft Play”.

Camógie Outdoor Blitz: A Primary School camógie blitz took place in Maghera on Thursday last and our 5th and 6th class girls represented their school with distinction.

Inland Fishery Workshop: Fionnuala from Inland Fisheries Ireland will present a workshop to 5th Class in the school followed by a field trip to Virginia Lakeland area. The aim of this workshop is to inform and educate students on fish, water, angling and the environment.
