School Policies: You can view school policies on our website. The policies are in the ‘Our School’ section of the website and you scroll down to ‘Downloads’ and you will see the policies. Some of these policies are in draft format as they still have to be ratified by the Board of Management. Our website address is www.knocktemplens.ie The Child Protection policy is displayed on the wall at the reception to the school. Our school anti bullying policy is on the website and is available to view in the school office. The draft Enrolment and Admissions policy and the Code of Behaviour will be on the agenda of the next Board of Management meeting for ratification.

Cell Explorers Workshop by Caroline Stephens The workshop was delivered to 5th class pupils this week and it will form part of our Discover Primary Science and Maths project. It was a most enjoyable experience for all pupils in 5th and 6th classes and we are grateful to Caroline for bringing the workshop to our school.
Tennis Coaching Tennis coaching commenced this week for all classes in our school and all the children had a great welcome for Michal our tennis coach.
Green School Travel Theme As part of our Green Schools Travel theme we are entering The Big Travel Challenge Competition this month. To celebrate winning the bicycle rack the Green School Committee decided to focus on cycling for the competition.
Department of Education and Skills
The next phase of our Whole School Evaluation (WSE) commences on Monday morning. Two inspectors will be in our school from Monday morning until Wednesday evening. See below a few reminders that would assist us next week:
- Please ensure that all pupils are on time each morning
- Please ensure all pupils wear their school tracksuit each day as PE is part of the WSE
- Complete your DES questionnaire and return to school (if you haven't already!)
We appreciate your support and cooperation with the WSE.
Cash for Clobber: This is a great chance to support the school while clearing out unwanted clothing and shoes (pairs only please). All types of clothing are acceptable. Other textile items will be accepted, except duvets and pillows.(No rush collection Date is in May).
Student Council

Cumann na mBunscoil Quiz:
Congratulations to the 12 pupils who took part in the Cumann na mBunscoil table quiz in the Hotel Kilmore last Thursday.
World Book Day We will celebrate World Book Day next Friday 10th March 2016. Every child received a book token to celebrate World Book Day. All pupils can dress up in their favourite book character next Friday and we will have a World Book Day parade at 1.40pm.
Active School/Flag Committee
Our active school committee have started planning for the renewal of our active school flag for next term. The Active School committee consists of:Samantha Faherty, Eoin Hetherton, Megan Magee, Paul Gilsenan, Ciara Enright, Harry Watters, Mr. Kelly and Mr. Mulvey
